Sen. McCaskill Meets A Heated Audience

Joplin Independent ...very long article so I am just putting some snipets

A frenetic hum in the auditorium of Missouri Southern's Criminal Justice Center ebbed and flowed as people assembled for what had been advertised by McCaskill as a "Kitchen Table Talk."

The audience clapped when McCaskill took the podium but as soon as she mentioned "the economy," she could feel a tension in the room. She described those shouting to be heard as a "bunch of unhappy, angry, frustrated" people. "Be Missouri polite; hear what's on people's minds," she suggested.

McCaskill was given a "roaster pan" from which randomly to draw out questions audience members had written on slips of paper just prior to the meeting. She didn't miss the irony in that...

John Putnam of Carthage, who said he was a fee agent for the Joplin license office, wanted to know why people had to show their birth certificates and not Obama.

The issue of Pres. Barack Obama's citizenship rocked the Internet blog world, especially after a number of self-proclaimed experts pronounced the "certification of live birth" produced by the Obama campaign in June 2008 a forgery.

McCaskill assured everyone that Obama was a citizen of the US. [He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961.] After mentioning that McCain was born in Panama [that didn't seem to be as much an issue], McCaskill told the audience that she didn't know where this birth certificate controversy came from.

~snipet~

McCaskill said she hoped the audience understood how she was being accountable. She called the audience, "patriots for being here."

However, as an aside, just before leaving McCaskill admitted, "I had never had people yelling at me before." She added, "I'm not used to people being that rude."

Wild Thing's comment.........

Well, that settles it. He’s a citizen and that’s all that is required after the votes are counted. Thanks, Claire. LOL

YO Claire, do you have an answer to Barack’s phony Selective Service registration?

We may never get an answer, but it won’t go away.

"You guys find something else to talk about,"

Typical Leftie response. When you don't like the question; change the subject. McCaskill was certainly most rude and condescending with that “You guys find something else to talk about” snide and snarky answer, that’s for sure.

" just before leaving McCaskill admitted, "I had never had people yelling at me before." She added, "I'm not used to people being that rude."

She calls someone else rude? hahahahahahhaha

My run takes me through Joplin and southwest Missouri every day. I am so grateful to live in this conservative stronghold. When I renew my commercial drivers license (CDL) I must present my birth certificate. When renewing the Haz-Mat endorsement I must go through a background check. Shouldn’t Mr. Hussein be required to do the same? The question of proof for him is legitimate. I hope the hag…ooopps I mean the old gas bag...ooopps I mean Ms. Makaskill is a one termer.

So, this bimbo thinks her constituents asking her tough questions is rude?

She was elected by St. Louis and Kansas City. The rest of Missouri wanted no part of her. She's like Obama, a professional campaigner. She spent her time in office here in Missouri campaigning for the next higher office. She's nothing but Obama's lap dog and hopefully she'll be voted out.

Well, it just goes to show you that the conservatives are completely fed up with the liberal banter and even some liberals are going, "oh my god, what have we done?" This next election is so very important next year. If we don't get the liberals out of office, we are doomed to an eternity of Hell on Earth. I'm glad they yelled at her. I had to show my birth certificate to get a job, so he should have to as well.

The article makes it sound like that was a really general audience with a range of questions. I think Senator McCaskill got an idea of how disappointed the interested public is with the new administration already.

BobF points out that her support comes from the two major cities in Missouri. That seems to be the way it is with the Dems. They get their support from the disenfranchised who don't really know what is going on and are very self centered one issue voters.

TomR, on election night, I checked the vote tally before I went to bed. Jim Talent was kicking her butt but neither big city had reported in...they're always last in reporting because they have to keep the polls open longer so they can gather the welfare recipients. I felt he had it won as they couldn't have wielded that many votes for her. When I awoke the next morning and checked the news, she had won.

McCaskill basically won election by convincing people that Talent was nothing but a "yes man" for Bush. Well, she's been on the Obama band wagon since he announced his candidacy. When she's near him, they probably put a 2x4 on her backside to keep her from falling in since she has her nose so far up his butt.
