Men who want to watch the world burn are happy today

Thank you God for showing the Republicans to stick together for America.

Dems muscle stimulus through House; Senate next

WASHINGTON

Democrats pushed a huge, $787 billion stimulus bill through the House and toward final approval on Friday, launching a costly attack on the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and handing President Barack Obama a major victory early in his term.

The House vote was 246-183, with Republicans unanimous in opposition to the bill, which includes tax cuts and an estimated $500 billion in federal spending. Senate leaders set a confirming vote for several hours later, and in a show of urgency, the White House dispatched a government plane to Ohio to fly back a senator who was home for his mother's Saturday morning funeral.

Vigorously disagreeing, House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio dumped a copy of the 1,071-page bill to the floor in a gesture of contempt. "The bill that was about jobs, jobs, jobs has turned into a bill that's about spending, spending, spending," he said.

In the House, all 246 votes in favor were cast by Democrats. Seven Democrats joined 176 Republicans in opposition.

Sharod Brown, D(umbass) Ohio. He is a typical democrat and of course they will hold it open for him. He's a walking, talking leftist, and big Union supporter.

Mark, thank you so much for the name, I was not sure and was rushing to get this posted. Thank you too for the information about him.

God bless them all, I am so proud of them. There is some true leadership going on somewhere behind closed doors and I'm glad someones doing it. Now i hope the senators find a spine.

You will probably hear about Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Obama's pork pie slice here in downstate Illinois in the coming days. It's called FutureGen and is a supposed clean coal facility.

A few years back they took the citizens of the Mattoon area on quite a ride. The Govment accepted bids for this "facility" from several communities, and Mattoon "won," only to find out the project really didn't have the funding. Oops! Sorry 'bout that.

I see common sense and foresight concerning this horrible spending bill will be ignored by the people of this area who need the jobs, need the influxtion of commerce to their area.

Multiply this times ? many shovel read piles of pork poop being doled out to temporarily satisfy the masses that The Fraud really cares about them, and add the length of time they plan to take to dole out this money. I am still waiting for FOX News to start bringing up the point that this pork is purposely being spread over time to time it to the next elections. After all, our Prez is a perpetual campaigner.

There's a theory floating around out there (Martin Wolf, Financial Times) that the central economic problem we face is not bank illiquidity or toxic assets, (and therefore a low rate of lending and commerce, which would respond to a "stimulus package") but vast insolvency of a lot of our financial institutions.

Their assets are dwarfed by their liabilities, and trillions of dollars of their liabilities are held by foreign financial institutions and private investors. As foreign economies react to it, their economies will implode too, dragging everyone into a worldwide recession/depression.

The Pork Bill passed by the idiots is a fiddle already on fire, and thesleaze liberals are funding all their pals and ignoring the real problem. If so, the worst is yet to come, and the administration is doomed.

Our Minority Whip said the $TIMULU$ BILL (not referring to Stimulus Bill Clinton) was numbered wrong (the pages) and was 12 hours late! And nobody READ IT? Are you kidding me?
