Obama "Going To The Mattresses"

What did Obama know ... and when did he know it?

Unanswered questions alarm anti-corruption investigators

The corruption arrest of Gov. Rod Blagojevich is raising questions about what Sen. Barack Obama knew of the Illinois Democrat's alleged activities, including his apparent offer to appoint Obama's preferred candidate to serve in the U.S. Senate in return for "private sector" help from Obama.

"This is a burgeoning crisis for Obama that should shake his presidency to its core," said Tom Fitton, chief of the Judicial Watch organization today.
"The criminal complaint filed today indicates that Obama and his team knew about Blagojevich's efforts to sell Obama's Senate seat," he said.
"Did Obama report Blagojevich to investigators about any efforts to sell his Senate seat?" Fitton asked.

ABC's Jake Tapper also expressed concern over the same issue.

On his blog, he wrote that while appearances seem to indicate Obama "refused to go along with the 'pay to play'" Blagojevich plan, there were significant questions.

For example, he wondered "how Blagojevich knew that Mr. Obama was not willing to give him anything in exchange for the Senate seat – with whom was Blagojevich speaking? Did that person report the governor to the authorities?"

The case did, however, mention Tony Rezko, a longtime Obama friend, fundraiser and real estate partner, Judicial Watch noted.

Obama told reporters, "I had no contact with the governor or his office, so I was not aware of what was happening," clearly distancing himself from his home state and its governor, whom he previously had endorsed for re-election.
"I am saddened and sobered by the news that came out of the U.S. attorney's office today. But as this is an ongoing investigation involving the governor I don't think it would be appropriate for me to comment at this time," he said.

But Tapper noted Obama's senior adviser, David Axelrod, appeared "said something quite different" in an interview Nov. 23 with Chicago's Fox affiliate.

"While insisting that the president-elect had not expressed a favorite to replace him, and his inclination was to avoid being a 'kingmaker,'" Axelrod said, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."

And there is THIS from CNN of all places................

Obama's response insufficient in governor scandal

(CNN)

By Campbell Brown

Tonight, a call for a little more transparency from President-elect Barack Obama about what he did or did not know about the allegations against Gov. Rod Blagojevich in Illinois.

I will first re-iterate what we heard from U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. He said Obama did nothing wrong and there are no allegations of wrongdoing against the president-elect.

Then Obama himself said he never had contact with the governor about who should replace him in the Senate and had no idea any of this was going on.

Fair enough. But that is all Obama has said.

And what now looks pretty clear, at least based on these tapes and what the U.S. attorney is telling us, is that someone from Obama-world did have communication with the governor about this.

Who was it? What was said?

Attempts by CNN reporters and others to get answers have been met with a big: "no comment due to an ongoing investigation."

Sorry, but that's not good enough for someone who ran a campaign based in part on a promise of more openness and transparency.

At the very least you could have assured that you and your staff are getting to the bottom of this and fully cooperating with the investigators.

After all, we can figure some of this out on our own.

It seems pretty clear that Valerie Jarrett, soon to be one of Obama's top White House advisers, was at one time on Blagojevich's shortlist to take Obama's Senate seat, and that there was some communication between Blagojevich and someone in Obama-world -- someone who allegedly conveyed to the governor that all he would ever get from Obama was appreciation.

So who was this point-person on Obama's team?

Did they know what Blagojevich was allegedly up to? And did they tip off investigators?

Or did they know the governor was allegedly soliciting bribes and did nothing?

These are unanswered questions.

.

Wild Thing's comment...........

When Clinton was in office, just about everybody he took with him to Washington or left behind in Arkansas was convicted of something, including the then Governor of Arkansas, and now Obama get’s elected and apparently everybody he was connected with in Illinois is going to jail.

The media and the Democrats managed to fool America into believing that the Clinton’s were the only clean politicians from Arkansas, and now the media and the Democrats actually want America to believe the Obama is the only clean politician from Illinois.

I think Obama will be protected by the media. They will not let the Messiah be asked difficult questions.

Funny, no press conferences from the fake office of president elect yesterday. Going to the mattresses I guess.

This reminds me of the scene in “The Godfather” in which Robert Duvall’s Tom Hagen, the Corleone family’s consigliore, and James Caan’s Sonny Corleone argue over how to respond to an attempt to kill Sonny’s father, Don Corleone.

“Sonny,” Hagen says, “let’s talk about this and get a meeting up.”
“No!” Sonny shouts back. “No more meetings . . . we go to the mattresses.”

In the film " The Godfather", going to the mattresses meant drawing in all the members of the extended crime family to sleep and eat in one place so they’d be together as they sought revenge for the Godfather’s shooting.

....Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

His hands are all over this! He is nothing but a cheap liar and swindler. All lawyers know how to cover their tracks. I wonder, that even though Jack Ryan did what he did, was it really bad enough to keep him out of his senate seat and let Obamammy have it? This goes way back and Rezko, Emanuel and many others are deeply involved. I would believe even Hillary might be involved somehow.
Blago needs to go. Plain and simple. He needs to spend time in prison. This is what happens when we elect greedy people.

Anybody notice how that Obama knows nothing about the activities of every shady character he's been associated with for years? Supposedly one of the smartest men in the country and he can't figure out that his associates are criminals or radicals. Every adult in Chicago knows it except him. This is the man that's suppose to "save" the country?

Al Capone would be proud of Chicago and of those who followed him.

Blagojevich: Look at this guys hairdo. It could stop an IED. Geeezzzz....I NEVER trust a man who has a "pretty Boy" hairdo. ie., John Edwards, John Kerry, John Murtha, etc. Seems to me that being a "Pretty Boy" is the ear mark of being a Demoncrat.

Why didn't they just list the Senate seat on E-Bay the way "middle-class" Americans do ?

willie--
I guess you didn't see this:

(They've taken it down now, and what the guy was actually selling was a photo of Blagojevich.)

We had eight years of the Clintons not remembering anything while accusations and investigations broiled all around them. Now we are going to have at least four years of "I didn't know and was unawre".

The Democrat tactic of deny, deny. I wonder what blue dress event will be Obama's downfall.

The year will end with that awesome picture of Sarah in your previous post as the face of the Republican Party and Rod the bag-man as the face of the Dimocrat Party. Not a total loss of a year, I'd say.

I'd say that the scandal goes back at least two years when Obama first tossed his name in the arena, Blagojevich had to have been planning for the eventuality and Obama had to have been an advisor to his replacement. Obama's track record speaks for itself, he has been immersed in corruption his entire career. Shakedown Jackson Jr. didn't waste any time making a statement but neither did Blagojevich the day before his arrest. Lying is the art form of the Democrats, you can spot them every time they move their lips. With one Illinois Governor in prison, hopefully another on the way and with some honest investigation maybe a few more from Chicago will join Tony Rezko in jail.

You can always tell a democrat. If you place a Republican and a democrat side by side, you know immediately who the democrat is. The one that looks the most miserable, has the an expensive suit. Why is that ? They are so use to spreading misery around to all their constituents it rubs off on them and there is no way they can ever be happy again.

It is amazing, Obama says, the economy will get worsse before it gets better so prepare for it. We are determined to make every one as miserable as they are.

Blagovich or whatever the hell his name is. Another shining example of corruption in a suit. Selling a Senate seat to the highest bidder. Is it any wonder these scumbags use the Constitution as a doormat ?

In the presidential campaign we heard Barack Obama vehemently deny that he knew what Rev. Jeremiah Wright was saying during the 20 years that he knew him and listened to his sermons. Now, President-elect Barack Obama, the virgin birth of the corrupt Chicago Democrat political machine, vehemently denies that he ever knew and now knows nothing of what goes on in Democratic Chicago politics and never communicated his thoughts on his US Senate replacement directly or indirectly with Gov. Rod Blagojevich or his representatives. What a crock!

Chicago Tribune article referenced Obama-Blago discussions on Senate Seat!
http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2008/12/chicago-tribune-article-references.html

"David Axelrod, KHQA and now the venerable Chicago Tribune all independently reported that Governor Blagojevich and Barack Obama held discussions regarding his Senate replacement. For those keeping score at home, this makes four different sources (KHQA had two articles on the topic) referencing one or more meetings, which Barack Obama said never took place."

Lynn, I agree, lawyers are really good at double talk and knowing the tiny little small print that just might keep them from being punished, even if what they do is breaking the law.

Posted by: Wild Thing at December 11, 2008 06:16 PM

BobF, LOL yes isn't that something. All kinds of bad people around him and he thinks it cannot touch him. hahaha Hello-o-o-o-o Obama we are not stupid.

BobF, ....."Al Capone would be proud of Chicago and of those who followed him".....yes he would be beaming with pride. Good one Bob.

"Now we are going to have at least four years of "I didn't know and was unawre".

Horace, big smile, yes at least we have wonderful memories of Sarah and a future with her too if she decides to run again.

Posted by: Wild Thing at December 11, 2008 06:39 PM

Jack, yes LOL and it was so obvious too when Jackson Jr. had to hold a press conference so fast, just like you said.

Just some attitude not much more then that, but the media just a tiny bit is ticked about this. LOL What the heck did they expect, when they chose to ignore Obama's associations and the kind of character all low of Obama.

Posted by: Wild Thing at December 11, 2008 06:43 PM

Mark, LOL oh my gosh.

"You can always tell a democrat. If you place a Republican and a democrat side by side, you know immediately who the democrat is. The one that looks the most miserable..."

I agree sooooo much. I have to tell you a game Nicholas and I play when we eat out. hahaha

We look around room and try to pick who we think is a dem or a rep. hahaha We just look for the most miserable people. heh heh
