The American Humanist Association Hate God!

Group's new Christmas message: Be good, not godly

CNN

WASHINGTON

You better watch out. There is a new combatant in the Christmas wars.

Ads proclaiming, "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness' sake," will appear on Washington buses starting next week and running through December.

The American Humanist Association unveiled the provocative $40,000 holiday ad campaign Tuesday.

In lifting lyrics from "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," the Washington-based group is wading into what has become a perennial debate over commercialism, religion in the public square and the meaning of Christmas.

"We are trying to reach our audience, and sometimes in order to reach an audience, everybody has to hear you," said Fred Edwords, spokesman for the humanist group.
"Our reason for doing it during the holidays is there are an awful lot of agnostics, atheists and other types of nontheists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion."

To that end, the ads and posters will include a link to a Web site that will seek to connect and organize like-minded thinkers in the D.C. area, Edwords said.

Edwords said the purpose isn't to argue that God doesn't exist or change minds about a deity, although "we are trying to plant a seed of rational thought and critical thinking and questioning in people's minds."
The group defines humanism as "a progressive philosophy of life that, without theism, affirms our responsibility to lead ethical lives of value to self and humanity."

It's the ultimate grinch to say there is no God at a time when millions of people around the world celebrate the birth of Christ," said Mathew Staver, the group's chairman and dean of the Liberty University School of Law. "Certainly, they have the right to believe what they want, but this is insulting."

Wild Thing's comment.........

Christmas is a Christian Holiday, if a person does not believe in God that is their choice. But to take Christ out of Christmas, to take God out of Christmas is outrageous!!!!

The group defines humanism as "a progressive philosophy of life that, without theism, affirms our responsibility to lead ethical lives of value to self and humanity."

See the word "progressive"...every time we see that word it is communisim ! Just like the left and their use of the word progressive. They can take their " progressive " and their Humanist and go live in a communist country if they are so uncomfortable with Christ in Christmas.

....Thank you Lynn for sending this to me.

Like most Texans, they are patriots and the 'War On Christmas' must be fought daily & 365 days a year: MERRY CHRISTMAS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY JESUS!
"Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6 I'm hopeful our son will be attending Liberty U for graduate studies!

Blaise Pascal (1623-1662)

In Pascal’s Pensées, one of his large religious papers, Pascal made a famous statement known as Pascal’s Wager: "If God does not exist, one will lose nothing by believing in him, while if he does exist, one will lose everything by not believing." His conclusion was that "...we are compelled to gamble..."

A little good news....at least until idiots like Edwords and his ilk (NAACP, ACLU, etc) get wind of this....a nearby city where I live just put up 2 7-foot tablets at a very busy intersection!!!! Yep...you guessed it....THE 10 COMMANDMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonder how long it will be before some bleeding heart politically correct piece of crap whines and they have to take them down?!?!?!

Until then.....CHRIST LIVES in this small little community in northeast Indiana!!!!!! And I WILL NEVER EVER STOP SAYING "MERRY CHRISTMAS"!!!!!!!!

In the Red State(Texas) I live in, there are churches on most corners. Maybe that is why we are Red in our voting.

There is usually an atheist activist somewhere trying to impose his minority will on us through the courts. Local courts are seldom a problem. It is the Federal Courts system that is trying to remove God from America.

This attack on religion is just one of several "progessive" movements in America that could lead to a Second Revolution.

I guess this is why they study the Humanities and not hard science and mathematics. It can't be proven without doubt that God does exist and it was not by a stroke of lightning or some mysterious black hole implosion that everything came into being.

Just as an example, the index finger of any hand, the length of the first knuckle to the second knuckle has the ratio of 1:1.618 and from the second knuckle to the third then to the wrist has the same ratio. This is called the Devine Ratio and for good reason. The whole human body is laid out this way.

In nature the same ratio exist in flowers and in the universe and in the relationship to the planets and on and on. This did not happen by accident. There is a grand design involved in all of this.

The reason they disavow God is because everything they consider relavant becomes and iffy grey area, and thus no responsibility is required for life and cicumstances requiring judgement. When this is not required then life for them is easy. The Science and Mathematics has always been here it has just taken some genius that God has planted every so often to discover it. Einstein was the last great genius and perhaps he got to close to a real understanding of God, the universe and everything that is going on.

Sounds like something to include in the Democrats Fairness Doctrine. An equal number of bus ads will be required saying, "Why believe in a false god when you have Obama? Just drink your Kool-Aid and believe in Obama for Obama's sake."

Les, yes they sure want people to worship Obama. So they have to try to get people away from God.
