Damn, I detect the emergence of some backbone. It looks like the Republicans have actually grown a spine.

That is so good to hear. This all started in September when plosi turned the lights out on them. It must suck to be plosi.

It's a little late to be standing up to a Socialist rubber stamping but commendable nevertheless. Maybe they are afraid you and I will pull the plug on their terms in office and rightfully so.
As bad as it is let's not lose sight of the fact that this meltdown started 18 months ago, now that the election is nearing and GW is leaving, all of a sudden it's a crisis of immense proportions. For whom? Let's look at who is up for re-election and who has had their filthy fingers in the purse. The dems desperately want to cover their decades long screw up and the RINO's want to escape the wrath also. Who better to shift the blame to than the taxpayer, either way it makes both parties 'look good', as saviors of the economy, no matter that it enslaves us all to a socialist 'cure'.
It was the Democrats who set up the shakedown system for squeezing the investment bankers to bankroll their ponzi low income -no income section 8 scheme and that the RINO's went along, both for a cut of course.
Have any of the ringleaders admitted that they made a mistake 10 or more years ago? No, they have blamed the bankers as their way of absolving themselves of any role in the collapse.
Once again it's the system, not those who tweaked the system, so taxpayer, help us cover our asses.

Mark, yes your right, that is when they staretd to ban together the strong conservatives among them and they have not stopped. It is not a big group of Republicans I wish it was, but they speak out loudly and often and are not taking prisoners which I adore that kind of attitude as always.
If they meet up with road blocks on this it certainly won't be because these men did not give it all their efforts that is for sure.

Jack...."Have any of the ringleaders admitted that they made a mistake 10 or more years ago?"....
No and I won't hold my breath.

They should start with Clinton and work their way down in the guilty dept.
