Gov. Sarah Palin Rally in Golden, Colorado

Sarah Palin Speech, at The Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Golden, Colorado on Sept 15, 2008

Republican vice presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin shakes hands with Denver police officers before getting on her airplane in Denver, Monday, Sept. 15, 2008

from a Veteran that attended the rally.....
"I was one of the first that she met and I asked her to sign my boonie hat. I gave her my marker and she signed my hat and asked if she could use the marker to sign someones ticket. I told her that she could keep the marker."

.

VIDEO of her speech....Parts 1 and 2

As far as how many attended the video site says 5,000. I also heard more then that, so not sure.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, addressed the problems with the U.S. economy during a campaign stump in Golden, Colorado Monday morning.

Governor Palin was met with loud cheering and applause. She was very upbeat and forceful in speaking about the economy. She said she and McCain believed that the regulatory laws needed to be reformed, and that she was glad to hear that the Fed refused to bail out another financial institution at the expense of the American taxpayers. She spoke about the connections between Alaska and Colorado, and of course introduced her husband Todd. She spoke about support for the vets, and made several new statements on issues facing this nation.
“This crisis is an issue of real concern for the people across this great country. It’s taking a toll on this economy...I’m glad to see that in this case the Federal Reserve and the Treasury have said “no” to bail out another one — this time Lehman Brothers,” said Palin.
“This crisis happened for several reasons, which have to be addressed right now. Our regulatory system is outdated and it needs a complete overhaul. Washington has ignored this. Washington has been asleep at the switch,” said Palin.
“John McCain and I are going to put an end to the mismanagement and abuses in Washington and on Wall Street that have resulted in this financial crisis. We are going to reform the way Wall Street does business,” said Palin.

As I watched these videos, it occurred to me how many times she would stop in the middle of her speech to applaud her audience. I can't remember seeing that done quite like that before. She seems to appreciate her audience, in a way that other politicians don't.
When she asked to acknowledge the military members in the crowd, ( second video ) she not only clapped for them, but she also joined in the “USA” chant with the group. She didn't seem ill at ease or impatient to resume her talk. She just sort of slips in and out of being the crowd.

Sarah Palin just loves people. You get the feeling she really is in this for nothing more than service to country.
God bless McCain/Palin 2008!!!!!

God bless America!!!!

You made a statement that I really believe WT, "Sarah Palin just loves people. You get the feeling she really is in this for nothing more than service to country."

I firmly believe that.

50 years of political awareness has left me a cynical, bitter skeptic, but Palin renews my faith that there is hope for the nation. It's one thing to know the enemy of our freedom has coalesced in one political party but quite another to have those same enemies in your own ranks, I hope Sarah's example wakes up the complacent in the GOP. She energizes the base, something that has been missing since 1979 when Reagan vowed to liberate the Iranian hostages.

She is a good speaker, not slick or sly, more like the average person. Her talk centered more on controlling government than on government giving freebies. Ii think she wil appeal to a much wider segment of America than the other candidates and she will draw in a lot of votes for McCain.

She speaks to the people as if she were one of us. Oh, wait she is one of us. Maybe that's why she is getting such rave reviews, and our campaign is taking off like a rocket. She represents what this country is SUPPOSED to be about, We The People... Not we the elite.

One of the things driving the liberals and Dems crazy is Sarah Palin and what appears to be a happy family dealing with the same situations and problems that other people and families are dealing with. Sarah and her husband, Todd, are comfortable in their own skins with roles and responsibilities where she has very demanding and visible executive leadership public service jobs requiring action and results and not just fast talk.

Unlike the Democrats who talk about equality and breaking glass ceilings for women blaming others on why it hasn't happened, this Republican woman with conservative values and her husband actually achieved it and showed that it can be done. Voters identify and connect with the Palins and McCains while seeing Barack Obama and Joe Biden as "being part of the problem and not the solution" elitists that they are.

I am starting to feel more than a bit sorry for Todd Palin. He manages to smile and portray politeness but I'll just bet that he is tiring of the limelight. He is just an average guy in extraordinary circumstances but fame is tough price to pay, for anyone.

Jack, yes she is real and it sure is refreshing.

I hope others wake up too Jack and see the response someone like Sarah gets, enthusiam and dedication to people like this is easy. Especially when we have been waiting for several years for this to happen.

Tom, I think so too, you mentioned how she will appeal to a much wider segment of America I really believe this.

Well we moved to Pa so my wife could be closer to HER FAMILY, not that I mind they are good people here in Deliverence Pennsylvania, we missed McCain-Palin in Lancaster. Now the irony of ironies, Sarah Palin is in my old neighborhood, two blocks from where we used to live in Ohio. Live from Vienna Ohio, at the Air Base... Women, can't live with'em can't live without them.

Mark, big smile ( i love it) yes she sure is one of us it feels good not to have a legal beagel in there and being 'lawyerish' like so many politicians do.....yuk.

Les, I agree so much. Nicholas and I were talking about that today. We actually have both the Pres. and VP candidates as loving couples and caring families. Watching Cindy McCain looking at John is very special, you can see the love she has for him in her eyes. And John too toward Cindy he really is respectful to her. The same with Todd and Sarah as well.

Unlike the Mrs. Kerry being drunk most of the campaign and Michelle Obama and her hate mongering all the time. yuk.

Yatalli, I don't get that feeling at all, not even a little.

I watch his eyes filled with pride about her, his smile so loving. I think he is extremely proud of her and understands what this takes. He is his own man and that makes them even better as a couple they respect each others passions like we have heard them both comment on.

Mark, WOW that is really something!!!!!!

I am so glad you shared about that. I have learned from the few moves I have made in my life that ones life is still at the various places with so many memories that live on. So it is like you are there too in a certain way, does that make sense?? I know I feel like that about the Dallas rally and if they do one in Illinois (where I was born), and California where I lived for 27 plus years.

That is so neat Mark, to have rallies at two of the places that have been a part of your life.

I don't disagree that Todd is very proud of her, as well he should be. But I don't think that the lime light is his cup of tea.

yatalli, I see what you mean, yes,for some people they are uncomfortable with that kind of thing.
I don't know him so I have no idea. haha We will have to wait and see I guess.
Thank you yatalli for your input.
