Former Guantanamo Detainee Carried Out Iraq Suicide Attack

Former Guantanamo detainee carried out Iraq suicide attack

International Herald Tribune

Al-Arabiya television reports that a former Guantanamo detainee carried out a recent suicide bombing in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

A cousin says Abdullah Saleh al-Ajmi, a Kuwaiti released from Guantanamo in 2005, was reported missing two weeks ago and his family learned of his death Thursday through a friend in Iraq.

The cousin, Salem al-Ajmi, told Al-Arabiya on Thursday that the former detainee was behind the latest attack in Mosul, although he did not provide more details.

Three suicide car bombers targeted Iraqi security forces in Mosul on April 26, killing at least seven people.

Mosul is believed to be the last urban stronghold of al-Qaida in Iraq.

Wild Thing's comment.......

Abdullah Saleh al-Ajmi is not the only Guantanamo releasee to return to the fighting. A half dozen have been killed fighting with Al Qa'ida and the Taliban in Afghanistan.

I think these lawyers should also be held accountable.

From Wikipedia:

" On September 2, 2003 attorneys Thomas Wilner, Neil H. Koslowe, Kristine A. Huskey, and Heather Lamberg Kafele filed a Petition for writ of Certiorari on behalf of Al Ajmi and eleven other Guantanamo detainees.
In April 2008 Al Ajmi was reported to have conducted a suicide attack in Iraq."

And let's not forget THIS too:
From John McCain

"I would immediately close Guantanamo Bay, move all the prisoners to Fort Leavenworth (Kansas) and truly expedite the judicial proceedings in their cases," he said.

There was a reason we built Guantanamo--that's where we put our unmentionable prisoners. Why would I want these terrorists in my backyard (about a 3 hour drive away from where I live)? Gitmo has to stay open. It's a good place for them--you think they're being tortured and that is simply not true. They get meals, medical care, tv shows from their homeland. This is the best treatment many of them have gotten in their whole lives, but you liberal loony tunes think that because they're behind bars, it's inhumane. How about we bring them here and they have to live with you? Okay?
This idiot who carried out the bombing is exactly why Gitmo needs to stay open and we need to continue to detain these wackjobs because they run straight back home and keep doing what they were doing.

It's time for Operation GITMO DEEP SEA FISHING... Guess who would be the bait and shark chum?

Nothing surprising here. I just hope no Americans were killed in al-Ajmi attack. At least he will never return to Gitmo. You can bet the ACLU has no statement on this incident. We really need to be taking fewer prisoners.

It puzzles me how people can fight so hard for the release of such evil people as terrorists and close their minds to the stupidity of their facilitating the slaughter and maiming of innocent victims by these savages after they get out.

George Bush opposes the release of prisoners from Gitmo but pressures Israel to release terrorists in their jails who brag about killing Jews, Americans, and other infidels when they get out.

Lynn, yes and I would be very worried for you and others that close to it here in the States. Gosh Lynn this is just so stupid when there is a perfect place for them...GITMO and like you said it was set up for this. I pray they never close it and keep them far from our soil here at home.

Darth, yes and we can let them know no more big fish will get away too.

Tom, I agree, I wouldn't mind at all less prisoners and more DEA of the terrorists.

Les me too!! I will never understand it never. How can they not care about our survival, and the survival of our troops, and our own country too. This is bad on all levels to want to close GITMO. And to even get them lawyers, what the heck for, I am against that too.
