B.Hussein Gets Record Crowd at Waterfront Park in Portland, Ore.

B. Hussein and his wife in Portland Oregon.

Washington Post

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Sen. Barack Obama has seen his share of large crowds over the last 15 months, but his campaign said they have not approached the numbers gathered along the waterfront here right now.

The campaign, citing figures from Duane Bray, battalion chief of Portland Fire & Rescue, estimated that 75,000 people are watching him speak.

The scene suggests this is not an exaggeration. The sea of heads stretches for half a mile along the grassy embankment, while others watch from kayaks and power boats bobbing on the Willamette River. More hug the rails of the steel bridge that stretches across the water and crowds are even watching from jetties on the opposite shore.

Wild Thing's comment........

Per the Obama campaign, 75,000 people (60,000 in the gates and 15,000 outside of them). The 60k was confirmed by the local FD as inside. Now the headlines are listing 80k . LOL I guess the amount will keep growing with the media lies. It still was a huge crowd so why lie, I guess it just comes natural to them.

I guess they never heard the old saying, "Be careful what you wish for..."
These bozos will be the first ones crying when this immature child throws a temper tantrum in front of all the world and does something stupid--like press the "red" button by accident and starts a war over nothing and then claim it wasn't his fault. That he didn't "mean" to do it.
Or when he taxes hard working Americans into the ground for "social" programs we can't afford anymore. This "nanny" state has to stop--we can't live dependent on the government for our paychecks. Hurricane Katrina taught us that.
Why would anyone want a baby in the White House unless it's a real baby? He reminds me of Stewie Griffin from Family Guy and the Brain from Pinkie and the Brain--so lost in his quest for glory that he's forgotten the reason he wanted this glory.

I wonder if these people pray to him every night?

I wonder how many will show up to vote on election day. These people obviously care more about his empty rhetoric than they worry about his known faults, like Marxist friends and his racism. Sheep!

LOL, Portland Mayor Tom Potter's sheep being led to slaughter on the river bank. Where is that mighty Columbia River flood we had a few years back?

Tom Potter~~"We need Barack Obama to show ourselves, and the world, that America can be the country we have always wanted it to be." Spoken like the Marxist he is.

I travel there maybe twice a year, I never go into Portland anymore, I bypass the city. The last time I was downtown Portland it reminded me of San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury during the mid 60's, a freak show on every narrow street, a mecca for the homeless and it has gotten worse in the past 10 years, the core values of Multinomah County and Portland are decidely Marxist, taken over by the 'enlightened students' and their "Guru's" maybe more so than Berkeley. There is no doubt in my tiny mind that Obama will take Oregon.

Wow, is all I can say about the size of that mob. There has got to be an awful lot of people in Oregon that need to be told what to do. And if that is the case then the individual has ceast to exist and it, is all for the state. With it comes the belief that all rights and liberty come from the state and not from God.

This of course runs parallel with there belief in Darwin and the denial of an intelligent source for the creation of life.

If we are no longer allowed to be individuals then we will no longer be Americans.

In 1978, The Eagles and Heart drew 80,000 at the Yale Bowl. As part of my misspent early thirties, I was there, and suspect the same people showed up for Obama. Smoke.

There is a popular quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln. "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."

In Barack Obama's case, he can fool enough people all of the time to be elected President. This says more about the people in the crowd than it does about Obama. There is no test in our democracy that prevents fools from voting or becoming part of a political cult.

Lynn, I agree, those getting the hand out won't mind but the majority of Americans don't want nor get handouts they ( we ) pay our way and those voting for him will not like their taxes going up, having to pay out more to take care of all of Obama's promises.

BobF, nothing would surprise me anymore about this jerk and his followers. That very well could be that some of his groupies pray to him. Sick but bet some do.

Tom my hope is that the college age groupies will not vote when the time comes. That it will just be all the excitment they are having right now and nothing more.

Jack, LOL thank you!

The last time I wsas in Portland was in 2002.

Your right Oregon is ripe for the likes of Obama.

Les, speaking of a test I wonder if a test would be required when a person registers to vote what would happen. You know like questions on how our government works, things like that. So many people don't even know the branches of government.
