Once You Go Rino You Can't go Back ...Newt Gingrich and Pat Robertson

.

Al Gore is launching a $300 million, bipartisan campaign to try to push climate change higher on the nation’s political agenda.

This ad is part of the "We Can Solve It" global warming ad campaign sponsored by former Vice President Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection.

While Reverend Al Sharpton and Pat Robertson have different views on most issues, when it comes to the urgency of protecting the planet, they agree.

"I am honored that Al Gore asked me to be a part of this campaign urging people to take care of the planet," Robertson said on the Christian Broadcast Network. "It's just common sense that we ought to be good stewards of the environment and do everything within our power to protect this fragile planet that we all live on."

Rush discusses these two video's:

"But it's bull that they're "coming together" on this issue. Nope -- Newt's caved. Newt's moving across the aisle. They're not "coming together." Pelosi didn't move an inch!

I mean, we're accepting liberal premises again. We're accepting premises that the Democrats put forward, and then we do one or two things: We either run to embrace them to show the rest of the American people that, "We care, too! We care about saving the forest and the world and the environment, because we agree that we're destroying it," or we'll tweak their proposal a little bit and try to add what we think is a conservative twinge to it. I knew this was going to happen. Al Sharpton is doing one of these with Pat Robertson. They didn't ask me to do one. I've been asked to do stuff like this before about different things but they didn't ask me -- and I wouldn't have, rest assured. "

From the Washington Post

Private contributors have already donated or committed half the money needed to fund the entire campaign, he said. While Gore declined to quantify his contribution to the effort, he has devoted all his proceeds from the Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth,” the best-selling companion book, his salary from the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers and several international prizes, such as the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, which add up to more than a $2.7 million. Paramount Classics, the documentary’s distributor, has pledged 5 percent of the film’s profits to the group, and some of the money raised through the 2007 Live Earth concerts will help the campaign, along with Gore’s proceeds from an upcoming book on climate change.

...former Rep. Sherwood L. Boehlert (R-N.Y.), a board member of the two-year-old alliance....

...the group aims to enlist 10 million volunteers through a combination of network and cable commercials, display ads in magazines ranging from People to Real Simple, and online social networks.

...Cathy Zoi, the Alliance for Climate Protection’s chief executive...

...League of Conservation Voters president Gene Karpinski, whose group is supporting the effort...

...The new effort comes at a time when the three remaining major party presidential candidates — Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.) — have all endorsed federal limits on greenhouse gases, virtually ensuring that the next occupant of the White House will offer a sharp break from President Bush’s climate policy.

All three have discussed global warming with Gore in phone calls over the course of the past few months. While McCain backs a more modest plan than that favored by the Democrats — he supports a 60 percent reduction in greenhouse gases from 1990 levels by 2050, compared with Obama and Clinton’s vow of an 80 percent cut during that period

Gore, who backs a 90 percent reduction in greenhouse gases by mid-century...”

Wild Thing's comment.........

Once one of these jerks shows us he is a rino in any way there is no way imo he can go back to being a conservative.

Buy your hip boots now 'cuz they're gonna be in short supply. It's about to get piled reeeeeeeeal deep!

When you accept the premise, then it’s just a matter of negotiation about how much freedom we lose to global socialism.

Like the old joke, “Madam, we’ve already established what you are, now we’re just negotiating price.”

.

And look at this that Lynn sent me.......

'Forget global warming, prepare for Ice Age'

news.com.au.

SUNSPOT activity has not resumed up after hitting an 11-year low in March last year, raising fears that - far from warming - the globe is about to return to an Ice Age.

Astronaut and geophysicist Phil Chapman, the first Australian to become an astronaut with NASA, said pictures from the US Solar and Heliospheric Observatory showed no spots on the sun.

He said the world cooled quickly between January last year and January this year, by about 0.7C.

"This is the fastest temperature change in the instrumental record, and it puts us back to where we were in 1930," Dr Chapman writes in The Australian today.

"If the temperature does not soon recover, we will have to conclude that global warming is over."

My guess is that the odds are now at least 50:50 that we will see significant cooling rather than warming in coming decades," he writes

....Thank you Lynn for the article.

Comments

Even before the Pelosi smoochfest, Newt was sounding more and more like Dick Morris - a guy with a talent for wild ideas with a lousy track record for prediction.

Both, for instance, were predicting last year that Hillary would dominate the election, and she was unstoppable as President.

Gingrich and Morris are media creations. Gingrich is known for the Contract With America and Morris is known for Triangulation, but neither of them is known for anything else except talk. You can't trust people like that.

Soreloserman Al Gore's profuse sweating adds to Global Warming!

Newt's held up as the mantle of Conservatism. Back in 1997 Newt threw a true Conservative JC Watts under the bus to appease Jesse Jackson.

http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/sowell013106.asp

Back in 1997, when black Republican Congressman J.C. Watts denounced people like Jesse Jackson and then D.C. mayor Marion Barry as "race-hustling poverty pimps," House Speaker Newt Gingrich took it upon himself to apologize to Jesse Jackson. To apologize for what another man said is to treat that man as if he were your child or your servant. Gingrich then added further insult by inviting Jesse Jackson to join him in his box for the Clinton inauguration for his second term as president. Pulling the rug out from under your friends, in order to appease your enemies, may seem like clever politics to some people. But what could possibly have led Republicans to think that pro-Jesse Jackson blacks were ever going to vote for them?

I seem to remember an episode of Star Trek The Next Generation where Captain Picard was taken to a planet that had destroyed itself due to measures like this--rationing, worried about global climate change and nothing worked.
Once a government changes our lives, we can't go back and fix it.
This is socialism, pure and simple.
Yes, try to keep mother Earth clean. I learned that from Smokey the Bear and Iron Eyes Cody growing up.
The government should not be involved in this. They're just trying to get their mitts into my pocket and tie my hands behind my back so I can't do anything when they start chipping away at my rights.
Mother Nature knows what she is doing and she's damn good at it.
Leave her alone to do it.

Gingrich and Pat Robertson both rush headlong for the money and fame. This support of global warming by them does not surprise me. Both have been somewhat obscured the past few years, now they have the opportunity for publicity. They are both whores in their own way.

Those of us not on the global warming bandwagon will be in the minority. This thing is getting up a real head of steam. The costs and personal restrictions are going to be great. Then when it falls aart as it is disproven, the financial costs will be greater, and we will still have lost those personal freedoms.

Well here we are in the midst of another man-made crisis. or democrat generated crisis. the Gas shortage.

There is an old saying 'If you got it a truck brought it.'

The whole global warming "Crisis" is also man made from the imagination of people like AlGore. Who have no clue about what they are talking about. These freaks will not debate the issue because they know they would be beat like a drum.
Hollywood admitted that the "Ice melting glasier sequence in his movie" was computer generated, so much for the accuracy of his stupid movie.

The bigger crisis is our energy supply. Especially Oil. We are almost completely dependant on our enemies to supplies up with our mainstay for our economy.

If the price of Oil keeps rising, there will be shortages like we have never seen before. The economy will be falling faster than a stone in freefall. Oil is the key to our economy without it we will truly be a thrid world country.

We have let the special interest of the democrat party take over and give permission for how we approach the oil crisis and that is to do nothing.

I think there will come a time and it won't be far off in the future that there will be a rebellion in this country against the government. Because people will not be able to take care of their families. This will be the trigger to really start throwing the bums out of Washington.

All the signs are already in place, the dollar is dropping daily, hence the price of Oil is going to keep rising. We have turned our country into a consumer based society instead of a productive one, hence the scales are going to start swinging the other way. And there will be alot of Real Angry Americans.

Excellent topic WT and Lynn, thanks.
Temeperatures. Then there is all the hype about Glaciers, yes they retreat, it's a cyclic event, I have been to Black Rapids Glacier that has an interesting history, so much so that it is nicknamed the Galloping Glacier.

We need to step back just before that parasitic quivering mass of rectal tissue Al Gore put his mug before the camera. In the early 1970s, U.N. Secretary General U Thant tapped Maurice Strong to organize and direct the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. The conference came to be known as the first Earth Summit. In the following year, Strong became the first director of the U.N. Environment Program. These two U.N. positions marked the beginning of Strong's methodical march toward global governance.
Maurice Strong was a senior advisor to United Nations' Secretary General Kofi Annan. Annan had appointed Strong to lead U.N. reforms, as Secretary General of the 1992 U.N. Conference on the Environment and Development, the Rio Earth Summit. In the opening session of the Rio Earth Summit, Strong commented: "The concept of national sovereignty has been an immutable, indeed sacred, principle of international relations. It is a principle which will yield only slowly and reluctantly to the new imperatives of global environmental cooperation. It is simply not feasible for sovereignty to be exercised unilaterally by individual nation states, however powerful. The global community must be assured of environmental security." Interestingly, Strong had initially been blocked from participating in the conference by the U.S. Department of State. When Strong learned of this, however, he persuaded then-President George Bush to overrule the State Department.

WHO IS MAURICE STRONG?

Iron Eyes Cody was a phony prop for the environmentalist movement.

I know, Jack. I used to live not 10 miles from St. Mary's Glacier and Mother Cabrini Shrine in Colorado. What an awesome sight!!!

I just liked Old Iron Eyes. When I was a child, I kind of liked that old crying Indian.

The United States is going to suffer a painful case of reality on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 (the day after the general election) and Wednesday, January 21, 2009 (the day after the new President is inaugurated).

Voters will be faced with an initial shock on Nov. 5th when they realize that the time of false and empty campaign promises has ended and someone will actually have to walk on water to fix any of the problems that they talked about.

Jan. 21st will be the beginning of years of excuses on why the President can't do what they promised and voters will realize that nothing changed and they were willingly lied to, yet again. The cult of global warming and climate change will cause more economic disaster and food shortages than anyone can imagine.

Candidates for President in 2012 will be traveling to Iowa and New Hampshire promising to fix all the same problems that are still plaguing the nation.

Newt Gingrich, Pat Robertson, and other RINOs will continue to talk bipartisanship with Nancy Pelosi and Al Gore and fix nothing.

The good news is that February 1, 2009 will be Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Florida. Go Giants!

Rhod, your so right and it did start way before this global warming stuff just like you said too.

Posted by: Wild Thing at April 25, 2008 07:25 PM

Darth....."Soreloserman Al Gore's profuse sweating adds to Global Warming".....LMAO good one!!

Posted by: Wild Thing at April 25, 2008 07:26 PM

BobF, thank you for pointing that out. JC Watts was such a good guy! I hated when he got out of politics.

Thanks for the link.

Posted by: Wild Thing at April 25, 2008 07:28 PM

Lynn...."Once a government changes our lives, we can't go back and fix it."....your so right and like you said too, this is socialism.

Posted by: Wild Thing at April 25, 2008 07:30 PM

Tom, yes I agree, and yes we sure are in the minority. I was shocked that our neighbor here is all gung ho about it. She has alwasy been a Republican and I could not help it I started to laugh when she told me she was concerned about Global warming.

Posted by: Wild Thing at April 25, 2008 07:32 PM

Mark, I agree 100000% with what you said. If people can't afford gas to go to work too, groceries brought by those trucks like you said, the list is huge how the prices of gas effect everything.

Posted by: Wild Thing at April 25, 2008 07:34 PM

Jack thank you that is sooooo interesting. I remember hearing a lot about Maurice Strong. Wow what a weird feeling it is for me to be seeing that name again.

Thank you Jack and also for the information and links.

That is interesting I never knew that about Iron Eyes Cody.

Posted by: Wild Thing at April 25, 2008 07:40 PM

Les, oh wow that is like one hour from where I live.

Your right about the election. I am in a semi shock now about this election and it can only get worse. augh!

Posted by: Wild Thing at April 25, 2008 07:43 PM

No offense meant Lynn, thanks, love you. Lived at Duchesne, Utah and at Coalville, Utah, been all over Colorado, pretty state, same for Wyoming, the old man was a hardrock miner.
It's just that I hate phony liars and their pretentious agendas, Gore for example. I learned early on about Cody and who was pushing his custodian of the earth nonsense as the "Crying Indian" for the ecologists. I have lived and worked on the Ute, Uintah and Ouray, Shoshone, Blackfoot and Yakama Indian reservations, I also have spent time around the Athabascans and Eskimos, I know how they take care of the land and their custodian practices. Cody is an Italian phony.

For a follow up, Maurice Strong has been on the lam in China since the Saddam Hussein oil for food debacle, he's pushing the Chinese version of the Chevrolet, the Chery for the Western Market, not for enviro causes but to undermine the US economy.
