McCain to Close Club Gitmo:"The first day I am President"

John McCain said in Iowa,

"One of the things I would do, the first day I am President of the United States, is close Guantanamo Bay. I would close it and I would move those prisoners to Fort Leavenworth. It's become a symbol, which is very bad for America."

Wild Thing's comment........

Our troops busted their butts to track these terrorists down, risked their lives doing it, and McCain and anyone else that want to just close Gitmo and then bring the terrorists to our country so liberal anti-war lawyers can get them off is so outragous. And the arrogance in the way McCain even says it, bragging about it while at the same time he wants to play nice with the terrorists and not waterboard them, ONLY talk to them like he said he preferred to do is oh my gawd help us all!!!!

Thanks REAR Admiral McCain for helping the ACLU recruit MORE lawyers! You care more about defending Al-Qaeda than building a border fence in your own backyard of Arizona.

We need to get out troops to stop taking prisoners. We have too many whacko politicians like McCain who think islamist prisoners should be some sort of ACLU protected VIPs.

I guess McCain hopes that if he puts these prisoners under our legal system, it will show the terrorists we are nice guys. Then when our troops are captured, the terrorists will leave enough of them to be identified instead of having to use DNA for identification.

He is NOT president yet. This is just another reason why this section 8 should not be elected.

He has won two primaries and he thinks its over, someone should tell him it aint over yet.

At this point Romney looks to be the only viable conservative left. I am still hoping for Fred, but I am a realist and our next best choice is Romney.

"One of the things I would do, the first day I am President of the United States, is close Guantanamo Bay."

Only if they get to stay at your house. (and I don't mean the White one)

WTF? Close Gitmo and put in my backyard? I don't think so, McCain the Pain. Is the dementia starting to set in? That's what I worry about with McCain winning--either he'll die in office or he'll start going goofy on us with senile dementia.
I think that's what Chuckie was actually talking about.
Don't close Gitmo. Plus I don't think he can legally do it anyway.
He's showing his RINO colors, isn't he?
These terrorists deserve to be separated from the rest of society. People need to realize that. They have no rights to anything. But we give them the best food, care and medical they've had in their lives and everyone hates us for it. So fine, leave them there at Gitmo.

Compromise seems to be a lifelong theme with John Boy, but then I'm just an inquisitve infidel.

I look at the photos of John McCain's A-4 Skyhawk being hit by a Zuni rocket that was accidentally fired from an F-4 Phantom II on the flight deck of the USS Forestal (CV-59) on July 29, 1967 and the resulting fire, explosions, the horrifying death toll with the heroic actions of McCain and that crew. Hell on earth:

Accidents happen!!!

Then compare his incarceration in Hanoi on October 26, 1967 through his release on March 15, 1973 in the Hoa Lo Prison then I set in wonder about the man and if his incarceration and indoctrination has affected his ability to adequately protect this country from the threats against it, whether they be from the illegal alien invasion, the muhhammedan threats or a direct attack from the Communists of China, Korea or Venezuela. I look back at the records of past heroes, JFK, LBJ and John Kerry at how the media exploited their feats, real or imagined and wonder, who's hero? Is John McCain the same All American hero the media has touted for so very long. Will he play "let's make a deal" with the United States sovereignty like Jorge has and is currently playing with the sovereignty of Israel? Naw, he'll just rach over and kiss Feingld while tucking in Teddy. Will Not Negotiate With Terrorists has a new meaning.

I agree, "let's have some straight talk". John McCain is a f*cking idiot.

Jack, I've forgotten how horrific it was over there. been a long time. That's for sure.
41 years this July.

Darth, great way to put it.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 22, 2008 12:20 AM

drstrangeloveb52isok, yes, the ACLU must love McCain.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 22, 2008 12:22 AM

Tom I agree, oh let's see....ooops I shot that guy, oh well, saves a trip to GITMO (and me cheering the soldier on for a good hit)

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 22, 2008 12:23 AM

Bob that is exactly what will happen. sheesh So much for fighting a 'nice' war.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 22, 2008 12:26 AM

Mark, that is such a perfect description of McCain...."section 8". I agree with you.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 22, 2008 12:31 AM

Yankeemom, good one. Now that is a good idea, send them all to his house and see how he likes it.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 22, 2008 12:32 AM

Lynn, yes, I just don't get it, there is nothing wrong with GITMO. It is set up so perfectly and it is only the left and the rino's that want to close it.

hmmmm wonder if they think they might end up there one day.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 22, 2008 12:33 AM

Jack thank you so much for these video's. I watched all of them. Powerful and so sad to see these things and what makes me angry is I think it was in the second one where that last bomb they put on was old and rusty. Just so many things that should have been top of the line.
I agree with what you said about McCain.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 22, 2008 01:16 AM

Les, it is such a perfect place for what we are using it for. And no one is asking our military how they feel about it, just politicans acting like PC dictators about it.
