“The last thing in the world we need is a bunch of enemy combatants over here in our court system,” the former Tennessee senator and actor said during a radio interview at a restaurant attended by a couple of hundred people. He said closing the facility would allow prisoners to demand rights given to U.S. citizens and would not help “buy off world opinion.”

“It’s just one of those symbolic things where the United States is going to take the hit,” he said

I pray the Dixiecrats and Blue Dogs will put Fred Thompson FIRST in the 'Gateway To The Presidency' in the Palmetto State! We'll know by tonight!!

It's too bad that absentee ballots won't get counted five times more than all the others - I'd get FIVE votes for Fred - and then he'd get five more from my husband!!!

I'm hoping for a big boost for Fred later today with the results from South Carolina. Beware of the RINOs!

Darth, well Fred came in third. I don't get it, they like Huckabee oh my gosh that one gives me the creeps big time.

Hi BT in SA, I know what you mean.

It's OFF to 'Law & Order' if you saw his SC speech tonight... Fred is DONE and I am shocked how the RINO southerners stuck a fork in one of their own southerners! I thought Fred would make it a lot closer but he got smoked in Dixie. Duncan dropped out now Fred will do the same. So sad... Two great GOP candidates and patriots too.

It is not looking good for Nov. 2008 with choices like this:

Socialist Clinton - RINO McCain - Can't make up mind which party he is in Bloomberg.
