Fred Thompson on Federalism

Fred Thompson on Federalism

Before anything else, folks in Washington ought to be asking first and foremost, "Should government be doing this? And if so, then at what level of government?" But they don't.

There is a video at his site and also a lengthy article he wrote on the subject of Federalism. Both are very good.

This is a good video and a good read. But, is Thompson getting his message out. I only infrequently watch national news. Maybe once in a while I see a reference to Fred Thompson. I know the MSM is solidly against him, but I don't think he is actively sparring against the front running RINOs.

Fred has the Conservative vote, that is a given. However, the fence sitting former Reagan Democrats are the people that Fred needs to work for. The true Conservatives are a minority even in the Repub Party, which has pooped on us anyway. The fence sitters are basically conservative and too many of them may be swayed by the phoney rhetoric of the over promoted RINO's.

Great read as always WT. Has anyone sent the embalmer over to see if Fred is still alive? It's important to keep our finger on the pulse of perceived conservatives, they are a dyin' breed.
Imagine a backlash of the proportions seen in Pakistan at the mere thought of 'entitlements' being reduced or eliminated, they are the very crux of the Democrat party's platform and most of the RINO's too. I remember the tale of Moses when he came to the promised land and said to his people, get off your asses and get to work this is the promised land, then in 1933 FDR came to power, established national welfare and told the American people to set on your asses this is the promised land.
I agree with Fred and the Federalist Papers but it will take a conservative to turn this country around and I don't see any of the front runners promising anything but a rosy picture of wealth and security through conservation, taxation, bigger government and greater government dependence.

I'm afraid that most Americans have never heard of or read the Federalist Papers. They probably can't even spell 'Federalist'. Both failures thanks to teacher's unions.

Fred Thompson needs to show more fire in the belly but no amount of discussion by him of Federalism will wake up the nanny state dependent Democrats and RINO faithful to the only solution to saving our nation and Constitution. Trying to win over Reagan Democrats now won't help him win Republican primaries which he needs to do to win the nomination.

Maybe Fred should hire some of the striking TV writers to create a more animated and forceful presidential candidate character for him and just follow their script.

Les... Frau Vader and I shelled out $$$ for quality parochial schooling here (from K to 12th)and it paid off. This pathetic blue socialist state ranks 45th out of 50 in public school SAT scores! My co-worker home schools his kids as well. So much for our pathetic and unaccountable 'pub lick skoole ed you kay shun sis tum'!

Darth I agree, we are so blessed to have had the Founders we had.

Tom that is so on target. The way the others are being pushed, there really are some conservatives that are just thinking only of the rino's running and not the conservatives.
