Illegal Loving Sen.Harry Reid and Dick Durbin At It Again

Wednesday Cloture Vote Set For DREAM Act Amnesty Bill
(October 23)
Numbers USA

Last night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed to invoke cloture on S. 2205, Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin’s (D-Ill.) new stand-alone DREAM Act amnesty bill.

The cloture vote, for which 60 YES votes are necessary to prevent a filibuster on the measure, is set for Wednesday, October 24. Reid is attempting to bring this nightmarish amnesty bill to the floor under Senate Rule XIV without it ever having been debated in committee.

Some of the text:

By Mr. DURBIN (for himself, Mr.HAGEL, and Mr. LUGAR):

S. 2205. A bill to authorize the cancellation
of removal and adjustment of
status of certain alien students who
are long-term United States residents
and who entered the United States as
children, and for other purposes; read
the first time.

Mr. DURBIN. Mr. President, I ask
unanimous consent that the text of the
bill be printed in the RECORD.
There being no objection, the text of
the bill was ordered to be placed in the
RECORD, as follows:

S. 2205
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the United States of America in
Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Development,
Relief, and Education for Alien Minors
Act of 2007’’ or the ‘‘DREAM Act of 2007’’.

WASHINGTON, D.C.
Representative Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) today released a statement regarding an event Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) reportedly plans to hold in conjunction with discussion of the DREAM ACT – an event that will be attended by several illegal aliens.

“I call on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency to detain any illegal aliens at this press conference. Just because these illegal aliens are being used for political gain doesn’t mean they get immunity from the law.”
“If we can’t enforce our laws inside the building where American laws are made, where can we enforce them?”

Tancredo alerted the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency earlier today regarding Durbin’s 3:00 PM meeting.

Wild Thing's comment........

I am so sick and tired of this, they just keep at it. With short breaks in between and won't give up favoring the illeglas.

At least he is pointing out what kind of law-breaking is going on in OUR buildings. I just wonder what it will take to move these people to represent the U.S. of A. and the legal citizens.

The co-sponsors are Lugar and Hagel and if it passes a republican president will sign it. Let’s be honest, this is a bipartisan effort to sell out the country.

As Jeff Sessions pointed out, it's not just 1 million and something that will get amnesty. Once they become citizens, they can bring in all the currently illegal family members. So you see, it's not just a question of innocent children who were brought here by their parents. This bill would reward the illegal parents via chain migration!

They are the illegal children that their illegal parents brought to our country. These 'children' (as defined in the Dream Act to age 30) need to address the consequences of their parents' actions with their parents who broke the law. I owe them nothing. Not one damn thing. We need to remember not all of these 'children' were brought here -- some came on their own initiative.

Comments

I have a friend who was born here, her parents and grandparents, too, and she is Mexican. Her spouse was dragged her by his mother illegally when he was 10 to get away from an abusive husband. Her feeling is that the children of illegals have no say in what the parent did or does, so it is NOT their fault they are here illegally and we should somehow give them something.
I don't owe anybody anything except my own family.
They also feel we're trying to steal their heritage.
No we're not. What you do in your own home is your business, not mine. You can celebrate your holidays and I'll celebrate mine.
Just get legit and we'll get off your shit.

You are so right Lynn. I agree that it may not have been the childs choice to come here but that doesn't change the fact that they are here illegally. Seems like the mother that brought them here should apply for citizenship for herself AND her children. Duh!!!!!! It isn't rocket science!!!!

Amnesty is going to be pushed through one way or another. Whether it is for the potential votes or cheap(not)labor, too many influential people stand to gain short term from illegal immigration. None of these people care one whit about American Culture, peaceful neighborhoods, lack of assimilation or the long term future.

The American public made it's thoughts known to the politicians when the public rose up against the previous major amnesty plan. Within hours of defeat, the politicians were already planning more devious ways of getting amnesty legislation through.

Then maybe it's time for the American public to start replacing lame politicians Tom. We voted them in.....why not vote them out. Whatever happened to impeachment of incompetent politicians? Or has the "Peter Principle" taken over? We can complain about the situation all day long but until we make changes, nothing changes!!!

It is long past time to get rid of the politicians. Long past the time. But they keep getting re-elected. They have reached the point of invincibility they believe they can not be defeated. The point where they believe they have absolute power.

This is dangerous indeed.

Well stated Lynn. My ex brother in law is Mexican, his family came here legitimately, he was born here. We both served together in the same unit in RVN, he mostly in the Ashau Valley, we came home to a hostile environment. I left in '69 while he stayed on at the family farm.

Since that time the wetbacks have taken over the entire community and valley, even threatening his job of the past 20 years. He no longer farms,it is so depressed there, he has 2 years left to get his retirement and can't wait to leave. You see for the illegals here, all the cards are stacked in their favor, from farm loans, educational and medical benefits, to job preferrences in labor and business. If you can't speak Mexican don't apply for a job there, most can't speak English.

I visited the home town last week, Juan is still a brother to me and always will be but neither he nor I like what is going on there.

My property and irrigation taxes were tenfold what they were when I bought my farm. I sold my farm there to a local Mexican after 4 dismal years of trying to sell in the normal market, then only at a loss, the farmer who bought my place had a secured loan backed by the United States Department of Agriculture. He now employs illegals to farm the place.

Last week I drove through once lush farmland, orchards and vinyards, many were just fields of weeds, dead and dried up trees and vines, the small farmers simply abandond their properties, the city core is virtually dead, business has gone away except for Safeway and Walmart and both of them are hurting.

Thanks to the illegals, NAFTA and CAFTA plus the ever present greed of the state and county taxmasters to subsidize their voters, that has all been destroyed. It is a microcosm of what the rest of the country will be like shortly.

For the same price as an illegal war in Iraq, America could have sent a 1000 dollar check to every man, woman and child in Mexico thus removing any incentive to cross the border for a few years.

Imagine if we'd have just sent the equivalent monies to Adolph, Josef, and Tojo for their illegal wars they'd have had no incentive to invade and some of you would be wearing jackboots, sporting your black moustaches and saying your Seig Heils right now, Nigel.

Lynn, I agree, if it could be like that it would be ok. Legit is what we want.

Posted by: Wild Thing at October 24, 2007 11:32 PM

John yes that is what she should do.

Posted by: Wild Thing at October 24, 2007 11:34 PM

Tom I agree, it will be passed through either this time or the next time one way or another. I am fed up writing to my politicans telling them to obey the laws, they do not listen.

Voting them out and letting them know why they are voted out would be the only thinkg we have left to do. Not even shure if that will help anymore. So many rino's out there.

Mark....."The point where they believe they have absolute power."....that is exaclty what is showing up about them.

Jack thank you so much for sharing about this and about Juan.
