Nice ad! I wish them well and that they get many "qualified" and patriotic people. Good job, Army.

The $$$ bonus bothers me a little. We should have plenty of young people out there willing to do it for nothing.

Hell, I would do it for NO bonus, just to help my country, but my age does not permit it. Which is stupid because I can, at my age, out perform and out fight MANY 18 year olds.

WT, you tell those Army dudes, I'll help them "meet mission". Oh well, I'm probably too agressive for them. HA! HA!

Sorry Steve, we don't have people willing. America has over 3 million people and a small military. We have to deploy a 42yr old National Guard woman who just finished chemo therapy for breast cancer. We cannot get enough young men to enlist. Re-ups are no problem, but initial enlistments are tough to obtain. The Pat Tillmans are rare.

The military, mostly Army and Marines, are even taking guys with criminal records. And, they keep upping the age limits. yet, the same few people keep getting redeployed over and over.

The majority of young American men feel no sense of duty or obligation to serve. As long as they don't have to go, they can talk patriotism. I call it cheap patriotism and it is a personal anger with me.

I recall draft dodgers during Vietnam stating that they would serve if the American shores were attacked. Well, the shores have been attacked and we hurt for volunteers. I have also noticed how many of todays military are sons and daughters of Vietnam vets. It seems like America is relegating it's defense to a true Warrior Class. Like Rome did just before it fell.

That is supposed to be "over 300 million people".

SSgt Steve, love it!
Heh heh " too agressive for them" not for me, I love that, and I wish they would throw ROE out the window and just say go for it.

Tom that is true, everything you stated.
I write to a lot of the troops and I would say most, like 97% are sons and daughters of Vietnam Vets.

Get this a guy at the gym I go to said if they bring back the draft he is moving out of this country so he can take his two sons that are 14 and 15 years old, so they will not have to serve our country. He, the Dad, never served either. I was so angry and told him off. I call hiim a coward and told him he was raising his sons to be cowards too if they weren't aleady then I walked away.
