A Very Special Thank you and Prayer for One of Our Own Here at TW

Congratulations to a brave man, one of the sons of a dear friend of our blog.

This is not just a blog but a little home online and we all take such pride and gratitude in those that are serving our country.

Here is the message from Rhod that I wanted to make sure you all got to see. It is also in the post about Special Forces but it might not be seen so I wanted to make sure you all got to see it.

Thank you Rhod and please let your son doing this know how proud of him we are and that our thoughts and prayers are with him every day.

Thank you everyone. Of the 365 who applied, only 123 (I think) made the grade. His brother told me they covered about two hundred miles with ruck in the 28 day selection process.

Apparently names were called during the last formation, and those called retired to a room, where they believed the news would be a rejection.

Then the major cranked up Sadler's "Balland of the Green Berets" and there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

He's going to learn Arabic for his field of operations. Very troubling along with the pride.

Thanks to everyone once again. There isn't a guy or gal here who isn't a Special Force to me and to America. We're all part of this resistance. Every one of us.

Congratulations to your son Rhod. There is plenty to be proud of, and still a long road ahead full of adventure and intense training.

The importance of Special Forces capabilities as more than just "Sneaky Petes" is now understood and they are being utilized as more than just super recon and raiders. Their ability to train local forces in either insurgency or counter insurgency is what makes SF unique.

When Son comes home and starts training Dad to be the neighborhood guerilla leader, you know everything is all right. Ha!

Congratulations Rhod, and congratulations to your wonderful son. You have exemplified your parenting skills and that is now being reflected, thank you for your service and above all thank your son, those are mighty big shoes he is filling. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about our nation's youngsters in harms way, I have one grandson of legal age and another coming up. Both are oblivious to the dangers of the world, I hope none have to learn the way I did. Green Beret, what an honor. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Rhod--congrats to your son!
I know he worked long and hard to get this
honor.
The Green Beret is the very top best and he earned it.
My hubby has a very good friend who was Special Forces in Vietnam and he is the kindest, most gentle man I have ever met.
Your son is exceptionally gifted and I have nothing but praise for the Green Berets.

WOW!! That is something else. One of my best friends grow up has two son's that are Navy Seals. It takes a special man to be willing to go through the necessary training to become Special Forces.
