Smackdown by Fred Thompson ~ Priceless!!

The confrontation over Cuba continues. Michael Moore has challenged Fred Thompson to a health care debate. At issue -- Moore's trip to Cuba and Thompson's criticism of that trip. Moore noted Thompson's evident favor for Cuban cigars as a possible violation of the trade embargo. Now, Thompson responds. Cigar in hand.

For those that cannot view things on YouTube here is the Transcript:

Fred swivels around in a big leather chair, smoking a big cigar, and looking at papers with spectacles perched on his nose. The caption comes up: “Senator Fred Thompson.” He looks up from his papers, looks into the camera and starts to speak:

“You know, I’ve been looking at my schedule, Michael, and I don’t think I have time for you. But I may be the least of your problems.”

“The next time you’re down in Cuba visiting your buddy Castro, you might ask him about another documentary filmmaker — his name is Nicholas Gean (spelling?). He did something Castro didn’t like, and they put him in a mental institution for several years, giving him devastating electroshock treatments.”

-Pause-

“A mental institution, Michael. Might be something you oughta think about.”

Fred picks up his papers and swivels his chair away from the camera as it fades out.

Wild Thing's comment........

This is absolutely fabulous! Game, set, and match! The derision in Fred's voice and the superior mocking tone he conveys. It's basically a "you're effing with a far better man than you, fat boy" message.

I hope you can all see this video, it is brillant and soooo well done! ROTFL

Fred always has something NICE to say.
I like him. I like him a lot. He has the guts and the balls to stand up to weanie lefties and not think twice about it.
But the debate last night was good too. Rudy got very animated--it was good to see someone get worked up over something important!
I think several after last night, should consider dropping their bid--they have no chance.
But Fred is fabulous--I love him! He's considerate, compassionate and bullheaded stubborn! Just my type of man.

It’s kind of a shame that Fred won’t debate Moore. The reason is that compared to Fred Thompson, Michael Moore is a mental midget, Fred would chew him up and spit him out, showing folks what an idiot (my opinion) Moore is.

What a hoot, Fred and Moore in a debate, facts triumph, it would be like dueling with an unarmed man, Fred would rip Moore's head off and defecate down the hole.

Nicolás Guillén Landrián

Most of his documentaries were censured, apparently because he was not considered of the quality required to represent the Cuban Film Industry.

Nephew of the poet Nicolas Guillen, he was also a painter and writer. Most of his films are still unknown in Cuba and even less in the world.

He was sent to jail twice and also to a mental institution, where he was given electric shock treatment.
