Heather Martin Sings A Song For Her Brother Serving In Iraq

Heather Martin is 6 years old and sings a song that her mother wrote for her brother Shaun who is serving in Iraq. The song is written from Heather's point of view.

This little girl is absolutely adorable and you can tell she is singing it straight from her heart. God bless little Heather, her family and a special prayer for her brother Shaun and keep him safe.

Lyrics

You were almost sixteen when I came into the world.
Mom and Dad had you first then 3 more boys I'm the baby girl.
I sure have a lot to look up to in you, you're really smart and funny with a big heart too.
After one year of college you knew what you had to do.
It's just like you wanting to help with the war.
So you joined the army when I was only 4.
This time of year we talk of big plans but you're over seas in some distant land.
You can't be here for Christmas, I don't understand.

Chorus:
When are you coming home, Shaun?
When are you coming home?!
We lit up the house like we always do but it doesn't seem bright 'cause we can't have you.
In my prayers I ask God to keep you safe.
And I'm trying to be really brave.
Tell me that the fighting's through.
Come home!
I really miss you.

It's hard to enjoy the holidays without you.
But we're so proud of you and all the red white and blue.
Remember that Jesus is your best friend,
And someday our families will be together again.
Wow! You know we'll have a great big party then.

Chorus

I want to show you how tall I've grown and introduce you to my new friends at school.
Maybe we could go and get some ice cream together but I really don't care what we do.

Chorus

This is a news story about Heather with photos of her brother as well.

* Billy O'Blog Thank you so much Billy for sending this to me. It is so touching, and so very special.

Happy New year to all !!!!! and especially to you Chrissie. May you have all the best this year.

I came accross that video the other day and, as you say Chrissie, it is special.

What hit me right between the eyes this morning is the difference between the news stories you get at a local level and the national view.

This video was aired at a local station and frankly I don't know from where it came or their affiliation. It doesn't matter. What does matter is it is void of the poison spewed by the main stream press.

The first thing I saw today on the news. The very first thing I saw, this first day 2007, on ABC National news, was a report on.........."The disproportionate amount of casualties relative to killed in action that we are suffering in Iraq as opposed to previous wars!!!!!!!!"

Huh ??????? Where in the name of God do they get these people??

The reason the percentages of soldiers killed is lower than past wars is because of the advances we've made to save their lives!!!!! But you didn't hear ONE word about that. I guess we know who's glass is half empty.

It would appear that the MSM has not chosen the right New Years Resolution, or if they have, they already broke it. Nope, don't hold your hopes out for fair news reports on the national level.

Happy New Year anyway all.....

Billy yes there is a huge difference in National news and our local news. Even the local news channel in Tampa an hour away which is a bigger city is a tad more left then our local news here in Sarasota.

What gets me too is when they say they will give us the news and explain it to us. Good grief. Explain it to us?? I don't think so, no thank you.

Does anyone know of a pro troops rally or
hanoi jane appearance in 2007. As a vietnam vet I would like to attend to support our president and our brave troops around the world.

HI Bob, I wish I knew. I have been to the Support the Troops rallies several times but I haven't heard of any that are being done. I wish there were.
