Carter Be Gone!

Former US president Jimmy Carter: "I don't think that Israel has any legal or moral justification for their massive bombing of the entire nation of Lebanon."

And his recent Spiegel interview HERE

Former US president Jimmy Carter speaks with DER SPIEGEL about the danger posed to American values by George W. Bush, the difficult situation in the Middle East and Cuba's ailing Fidel Castro.

Carter: "I don't think that Israel has any legal or moral justification for their massive bombing of the entire nation of Lebanon. What happened is that Israel is holding almost 10,000 prisoners, so when the militants in Lebanon or in Gaza take one or two soldiers, Israel looks upon this as a justification for an attack on the civilian population of Lebanon and Gaza. I do not think that's justified, no."

Wild Thing's comment.....

The same man who couldn't get a handful of American hostages freed. And then there is the Panama Canal...........sheesh the list with this jerk is very long.
And I actually thought that the damage he wanted to do this country would have ended on 1-20-81. Not even close. He keeps on going and going.

Only an idiot would disagree with President Carter. Negotiations beget hope, hope begets investment, investment begets peace. President Carter is right on track when he describes how the course of this nation has been hijacked by the incredibly insane Christian fundamentalist, who seem to love speaking in generalities and painting whole peoples and cultures with a broad brush stroke...as if they understand anything. Unless you walk in a man's shoes how can you possibly know what troubles they've endured? This is true for the Palestinians as well as the Israelis. It's high time for a change in direction in the US. Kick out the meglamaniac Christian-War-Is-Gods-Will party and lets see the world return to peace.

Correct spelling would make your argument more plausible.

Please post your photos and diaries when you enlist in the US military and put your own ass on the frontline.

Thanks.

Jimmy Carter is the biggest embarresment to the US since slavery. This putz couldn't understand that iran attacked the US when it took our hostages, and the sorry peanut farmer didn't do a thing except negotiate. That didn't seem to work. Reagan, and the fear of his might got those hostages freed. Carter's other noteworthy accomplishments: assisting N. Korea in getting the Nuke bomb, helping Chavez into power in Venezuela(he oversaw the election). giving away the panama canal. Oh, he did take a stand once: he boycotted the Olympics!!!! wow, what guts, that showed everyone. If carter was prez on 9-11-01, would he have negotiated with Bin Ladin? And for his Nobel prize, ya know yassar arrafat had one too. Fact: Carter worst president and worst ex-president. Carter: PLEASE SHUT UP.

Jimmy Carter, The man who gave Clinton pardon and Kerry some sort of discharge from service
years after seperation, is a typical anti
everything liberal.
He should have stuck to raising peanuts.

Posted by: Philumc at August 17, 2006 05:43 AM

On behalf of the oppressed nations of the world we strongly support Carter’s patriotic view on this matter. Israel’s attack on Lebanon is based on groundless justification, as a result, more than a hundred innocent civilians were killed… murdered because of their erroneous genocidal response. The Zionist regime’s true aims are rapidly becoming more transparent as time passes by and that this is a growing threat should be answered with righteous response. As for America’s sake they should stop meddling with other country’s affairs and instead focus on their own domestic issues, they keep on pushing for the withdrawal of Russian bases from former soviet republics while they are eagerly convincing eastern European states for deployment of American bases with ABM systems. You keep insisting that Iran has plans to build nuclear weapons with their peaceful nuclear program while turning a blind eye towards Israel’s alleged nuclear capabilities. These are just a few examples of American policy of double standards, now you keep thinking why majority of the people stretching from South America to the eastern most part of Asia is against the United States? Try to do some study next time.

Interestingly America’s global influence is on rapid decline since the start of the 21st century, I wish it continues that way and eventually lead to the absolute collapse of the United States

Joe, what kind of idiot are you? When has this world ever seen peace? Jimmy Carter couldn't lead this nation when he was president so what makes you think now that what he says has credence? That fool invaded Iran with 5 helicopters and a couple C-130's, leaving dead soldiers in the desert and disgracing this nation. Carter is a nobody trying to make a legacy for himself at the expense of this nation and its President. The Democrats shunned him like the plague until he started criticizing Bush.

Isn't there some schoolgirl you should be hiding behind, Israfil?

Much as the US tries to keep to It's own affairs, chickenshit Muslim fanatics commit random acts of violence against us, forcing a response, trust me, we'd like to leave you alone to kill each other in peace over there.

you chickenshits will not even be able to take Israel, Much less the U.S.A. Dumbass, push them a little harder and see how you fare bringing your gurilla warfare to a nuclear armed Israel that thinks their back is against the wall.

by the way, If your God told you he created life so you can destroy it, He's a Dumbass too.

'Ol jimmy should look at who he panders to, He's an embarassment to us, but he's an embarassment to himself even more.

No, I'm not a coward like any other American soldier currently deployed in the heart of the Middle East in a desperate but hopeless campaign to seize the valuable oil fields in the region to serve the selfish national interests of the United States.

To add I am a bit surprised by the various replies being posted at this section, as I read further, I keep on thinking, if American people are so united, as to what they apparently claim, then why do they have to tear down the name, reputation and integrity of someone who played a significant role in the history of their country? If the people of the United States are so god loving, then why does your government tolerate various acts of immorality such as pornography, satanism, racism and many more. When shall the American people realize that they are no longer in control of their nation? And that it is controlled by a group of phantoms that prioritize only their own agendas and pursue their goals at the expense of others even if such act results to the loss of life, American or not.
Thus the world itself turn against America.

Posted by: Israfil at August 17, 2006 10:46 AM

And if the united states is honestly commited to keep to its own affairs then you should stop your groundless protests over Iran's obvious right to access nuclear technology. USA has produced thousands of nuclear weapons in the first place, do not Impede other's right to defend their homeland

Posted by: Israfil at August 17, 2006 11:05 AM

Joe I think you need an education on how peace is brought about, how it is kept and what price is paid to obtain peace.

People that truly love peace and freedom are the very ones that know fighting elements that want to take it away has to be done. It is not that hard to figure out. Read your history of the USA alone and you will learn that.

Posted by: Wild Thing at August 17, 2006 11:21 AM

Chris you are right and I agree what the heck guts did it take to put a halt to the Olympics that year for the USA teams.

Posted by: Wild Thing at August 17, 2006 11:23 AM

Philumc agreed, that is all Carter is good for, raising peanuts. haha Good one!

Israfil:
1. I am getting bored with you so appreciate the few posts I have allowed of yours to be posted. Bugs can be so tiresome and you are just a bug.

2. You ARE a coward and I have no respect for cowards.

3. You said this..."If the people of the United States are so god loving, then why does your government tolerate various acts of immorality such as pornography, satanism, racism and many more."...........

OK now listen up Israfil!
First of all you need to realize that one of the largest groups that go to Porn websites etc. are Arabs, Muslim men. And then you speak of racism.......good grief I have to tell you the most racist people on this earth, the most prejudiced are Muslims. Let's see your hate for NON-Muslims leads to beheadings of innocent non-Muslims, torture, suicide bombing of innocent NON- Muslims. Want more just go look it up online or read more of my blog in the sidebar listed under Terrorists.

4. Israfil as far as Iran is concerned they are begging, begging I tell you for something horrible to happen to them. I have never in my life seen such begging as I see and hear from your midget smelly President of Iran.

Here is a word for you.........NAKBA to all terrorists! As you are a follower of Islam should know what that means.

Summer Ale to wash it down...

Who'd have thought that Carter's prepuce would resurface as a Muzzy named Israfil, where the separation left Carter with all the brains and the Muzzy with a stretched imagination.

"Please post your photos and diaries when you enlist in the US military and put your own ass on the frontline." Well said Douglas.

Posted by: Jack at August 17, 2006 12:43 PM

Bob and WildThing -
I suppose by your reckoning that Germany should never be forgiven, that Russia is still the USSR, and that China is filled with Maoist. Your emotional response to Carter's rather erudite assessment probably is in line with at least 50% of America. Carter was right. If your reply is for me to put my ass on the front lines I would let you know that I have indeed served. But, for the same reason that I outgrew model airplanes I also outgrew painting people in broad generalities ("Arabs are cockroaches in a bottle" quote from an Israeli official). One man's freedom fighter is another's terrorist. There will NEVER be peace until there is a desire to at least listen to what the other side has to say. Hang on to your bias, bigotry and hatred if you must...if that's what defines you. Hopefully, someday, you'll stretch beyond what you know yourself to be and actually empathize with the downtrodden and poor. Yes, they've committed atrocities too...but so did we in country's history. Should we pay slavery repariations? It's easy to say "no" because enough time has passed to make the matter moot, and enough healing has occurred to bring hope for the future. The present may not be perfect, but at least there's hope. But, you both seem unwilling to give hope a chance for Arabs. They are, deep down inside, husbands and fathers just like us. What drives their young men is ignorance coupled with desparation. Following Carter's example we can snuff out the fuse rather than let it burn to an eventual explosion.
That's what he was saying. That's what I'm saying. That's not what you two are saying. I almost left this country when Bust was stole the election. If the Christian right prevails again my family and I will leave.
I can already read your thoughts. Spare me.

Posted by: Joe Everett at August 17, 2006 01:10 PM

When you leave this country Joe, the greatest country in the world, perhaps you will be more comfortable in an Arab country, maybe Iran. Just a suggestion mind you since your knowlegde is onesided as to how our Nation has treated Arabs and how the true facts are, they have lied, not kept their word and as in Iran have threatened us.

As for me I do not take threats lightly as in the ones from Iran's President and even if you do not want to realize it or admit it..... THEY threaten us we are not the ones making the threats.

Posted by: Wild Thing at August 17, 2006 01:50 PM

Wild,
Neither do I take Iranian threats lightly...but the reality is that it's posturing. If even it weren't acting like a bible-thumping Bush-can-do-no-wrong Falwell Republican will get us nowhere except that absolute certainty of war in whatever form it takes. The legacy we'll leave our children will be to pick up the rifle we can no longer fire. Some future.
So what if Iran is making threats? Is thumping our chests the answer? No. Chest-thumping is something we should have all outgrown in our teens and twenties.
Who cares if the Iranians lied? We know they did...why make a point of it? One thing's for sure...they had a reason. The very same reason a child has when they lie about taking a cookie or spilling milk -- to protect themselves. Knowing they lied is irrelevant. Knowing why is the better thing. What are they protecting? Engage them (in negotiations) and find out. Work with them. Honor them and they will honor us. It's how you and I operate in the world everyday...it's how everyone operates. By the way -- there is no such thing as a "country". It's a total illusion. If you've ever travel in low-earth orbit you'll never see boundary. It's fiction...and we look at a map and think it's real. It's not. The only thing you'll see on the ground is people and their work...nothing else. They are not "Iranians" any more than we are "Americans". They are people.

Wild,
Appreciate the interesting discussion. That you listened and engaged me in conversation without judgement makes me smile.. :)

You're a good person. Peace.

Jimmy Carter is like that bad dream that you keep having over and over. His "peace" rantings are one of those ironies that produce more of what he rants against, wars. Just the opposite of what Joe Everett claims negotiations produce.

Israfil - you rant like a member of a cult-NAKBA to you.

Joe

Your memory is as faulty as your moral equivicating, just where is the equivilence? you think your wife or daughter could peaceably walk down the street in Tehran like they do here in this country? do you think you could express your opinion in tehran like you do here on Miss WT's blog? if you can't see the difference I'll have to agree with Tincan.

do you think Iran would be the threat to us it is today had Jimmy backed our friend the Shah of Iran? the correct answer is no.

do you think the majority of thinking Iranians want what the currently have for a leader? no.

Jimmy greatly helped put those people under that bondage and he also put your children's lives at risk by not supporting the Shah, because we will soon have a nuclear armed nutcase who wants to wage a holy war on the world thanks in large part to Jimmy Carter.

Israfil wrote:

Yeah. That's why I'm paying 3 bucks a gallon. That's why the bravest, fiercest fighters with the biggest, most compassionate hearts are attempting to piece a nation together. To establish a nation in the area (besides Israel) where perhaps children can grow up with an education to become something other than a munitions delivery system. That's why the most generous nation on the planet is pouring untold billions into this endeavor. We're just after the oil. Dig your head out of the anti-semitic sand and get a clue.

You bring up Iran's not so clandestine endeavor for a nuclear weapon. Other mid-east nations don't dispute this. You state that Israel has or is after nukes. Well seeing as how they're the best militarily equipped nation in the region and they haven't invaded unless attacked without provocation, I think I trust them with a nuke.

You mention the east Europeans allowing the USA to use them to place ABM systems, like it's some kind of Zionist plot. You should view that as a good thing, someone puts one up, the USA shoots it down - saving lives. How's that bad

And Carter's "significant role" - hah! The only thing significant is he sowed the seeds for the islamic facists that President George H. W. Bush (elected - twice!) is in process of eliminating now. And I don't care if you view it favorably or not.

Next, the USA has reduced its nuclear stockpile since the collapse of the Soviet Union. We still have them, yes, but far fewer. And let's see, when was the last time we threatened another nation with genocidal annihilation, like every mid-east moslem nation has done towards Israel? Oh yeah, we haven't. And the last time we used a nuke as a weapon - 60 years ago! The mid-east islamic thugs can't even go a few years without one of them shooting something in Israel's direction.

Now bugger off.

BTW, Joe. There isn't a democrat left in the vein of FDR (save Leiberman and a few others - dying breed). They've been supplanted by socialists. Oh, and Bye. Leave your citizenship at the gate.

Posted by: raz0r at August 17, 2006 07:39 PM

Dang. That should be President George W. Bush, not President George H. W. Bush. Got carried away there for a moment.

So - President George W. Bush (elected twice!) w00t!!!

Joe, you still didn't answer my question, so I will ask it again. When did this world ever see Peace?

You said, and I quote, " It's high time for a change in direction in the US. Kick out the meglamaniac Christian-War-Is-Gods-Will party and lets see the world return to peace".

When did this peace you mention take place?

Posted by: BobF at August 17, 2006 10:38 PM

Israfil, you asked "If the people of the United States are so god loving, then why does your government tolerate various acts of immorality such as pornography, satanism, racism and many more".

Well good buddy, it's called FREEDOM, freedom to make a choice. Most of us here don't like those things but as an American your free to choose them. You can love pornography, be a racist, and worship Satan if you choose. We have that choice here in America. That's what makes this country so great. We despise the government telling us what we can and cannot do. Unfortunately, you most likely have never had that kind of choice as your government or religious leaders have made those choices for you already.

Also, you are right, as we have thousands of nukes. I used to work on nuclear armed B-52's and I can tell you one aircraft possesses more firepower than your mind can ever imagine. But, except for 1945, ending WWII, when has the United States ever used its nuclear weapons? If were as bad as you believe, why haven't we launched any nukes. I mean, right now, most likely, there are Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles targeted on Iran and various other hostile nations. Have we launched any of these missiles? Have we even threatened to launch these missiles? Do you think Iran would be so restraintful if it had the nuclear weapons the US possesses? I think even you know better than that. Next time sir, really think about what your saying.

Also, I wish the US would pull it's resources and money out of the Middle East, except for Israel, the True Children of Abraham. Without our money and resources, the rest of the world would go to Hell in a Hand-basket real fast. Just look how upset Germany got when they thought we were going to close our military installations there. You all need us, we don't need you.

Posted by: BobF at August 17, 2006 10:55 PM

Joe,
If we hated Germany so much and Japn too then
why in hell did we spend so damn much money
rebuilding both countrys??If we are the a$$
holes of the world then we would have left
them as they were a smoking pile of ruble..
Here's A FYI Russia never paid one dime back

and all the rest Joe all I can say is that you
leave me LOTFLMAO...

For all the maundering relativism, it's simply clear that Joe wishes to feel good rather than compose a rational world view. Joe is part of the "soft" world posited by Michael Barone...those who indulge themselves in the moral, intellectual and physical ease purchased for them by the "hard" world. Ignore him. We've always had the Joes of the world.

As for Israfil, he's not Western, so he has no experience with tolerance for opposing points fo view. Sorry, Joe. It's true. Israfil is the culmination of the soul-dead and brain-dead civilization brought to you by Islam. Without oil wealth, these backward primitives would be eating boogers and toenails for breakfast.

Israfil, when your culture can build a car rather than blow one up, can refine your own petroleum, compete in every way with The West, then you'll have something to say. Sadly, it's too late for you. You will wither like your culture, consigned to oblivion.

You will NEVER bring down American. Never. Why? We're superior and you are inferior. It's evolution, plain and simple.

Posted by: Rhod at August 19, 2006 08:03 PM

Posted by: Wild Thing at August 20, 2006 12:06 AM

Just wanted to add to Jimmy Cahduh's lst of accomplishments:

1) In 1980, the only people who knew about our stealth fighter/bomber program were the R&D people designing it from the ground up (and who were afraid it would never work), our congress, and our President. Completion was nearly a decade away. "Our" president decided to openly threaten the entire world by revealing the details of the program, adding, "Be nice, or we'll come after you with our invisible planes." [quote might not be 100% accurate, but it's close and does accurately reflect the intent of his statement] That gave every enemy and potential enemy 10+ years to develop defense strategies against our stealth fighters and bombers; they were not tested in combat until 1991.

2) Environmentalists tend to gravitate toward the democrats. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not anti-environment; I believe we need to be good stewards of our earth (it's the only one we've got). I'm just not an extremist. Environmental extremists just love Jimmy. They love him as much as they hate the Alaska Pipeline. His accomplishment? Who OPENED the Alaska Pipeline?

3) He won the Nobel Peace Prize. There is one thing I don't understand, though. Why did they award him the prize for getting a group of Muslim extremists to assassinate Anwar Sadat?

As a post-script, I would like to add that Jimmy Cahduh is telling the world, not just us, the entire world, that the only way to peace is if the U.S. sits down and negotiates with the terrorists. Hmmm. Now there's an idea. Let's see. The only nations to negotiate with terrorists over the past century or so are in the middle east. Well, we've seen how well it has worked for them.
