So There I Was

This last weekend I was MIA from my blog. It was a special weekened and I got to meet some more bloggers. The girls of the Cotillion had a get together up in Tampa and it was such fun. Only six of us were able to make it but we partied enough for the whole group. heh heh

I got to meet, Beth, Wendy, Jody and Tammy. Linda drove over from Miami and we rode up together. When we arrived Wendy had Margarita's already made. The room was great it was right by the water and a pool down below our room.

To get to meet Beth who is the founder of the Cotillion was a special time for me. She had such a great idea and it has meant a lot to be a part of it.

We lunched at the Cheesecake Factory and had a very nice waitress that once she decided we were not your typical let's do lunch group of girls, but were on a no holds barred mission to celebrate our friendships she warmed up to us.

After lunch we went back to the hotel room for more celebrating. Linda, Wendy and I left for a while to go buy more junk food, a real necessity for sitting around having fun. When we got back Wendy made more of her awesome Margaritas, she is an expert known all over the world. Well at least in Scotland, Canada and the USA. Hmmmmm yess just the right amount of salt on the rim.....perfect.

Jody kind of sort of kept us in line heh heh, well ok not really. And Tammy and Wendy got to go swimming. Tammy getting tanner and Wendy coming back from the pool with a pink glow--- the might be ouchie kind later glow. haha

We talked and laughed and talked some more. We decided how to solve all the problems in the world, how to kill of terrorists wanting to kill Americans and Israeli’s, and how to punish traitors and those committing treason to America. We talked about how awesome our troops are and how proud of them we are.

We even got to meet and thank 3 service men that we ran into. They are with the C-130 and had been in Iraq for 2 years. And said they are probably going back. They also said how very much they want to go back and shared some marvelous, funny and very touching stories with us. It was the icing on the cake for the Cotillion get together. Here we were 6 girls that appreciate our troops, know what our freedom has cost and had a chance to say thank you to 3 service men. We shared with them about our blogs and how we felt about the war and the enemy. What fun to be able to tell them to go kill some terrorists and we would cheer them on. Heh heh

It isn’t often that we get to meet others we have met online. So this weekend with the Cotillion girls and the other weekend I got to meet Vinnie and Merri and their children has meant a lot to me. These kinds of friendships are deep and meaningful. We all get to know each other’s hearts and souls and how we feel about things, and then to be able to meet and celebrate that friendship in person has even more meaning.

Thank you for a great weekend and God bless each one of you.
And C-130 guys, my prayers and thanks are with you each day.

Those guys were great, and I'm glad they stopped by, even if they didn't get to "go swimmin'"! Fancy that - Air Force boys staying at the same hotel as the Cotillion. Destiny, I tell ya!

It was so awesome to meet you, and I hope our paths cross again soon, WildThing!!
